About the event
From Farmyard to Garden
Manor Farm was built in the mid 1600s and over the last 40 years a garden has gradually emerged from the farmyard. Initially the pig area by the house was levelled to provide for play, edged with an herbaceous border.
Now the aim is to have a practical, productive and functional garden with year-round colour.
A bundle of whips in 2017 formed an orchard for fruit and more recently for grafting, underplanted by wild flowers. In 2018 a box-edged white rose garden surrounded by coloured shrubs was planted
